I only shot at 25 yards because this is my home defense gun aside from my handgun and shotguns. That said, I shot this in my 8inch pistol, with my dead air wolfman suppressor. I was using factory 300 blackout brass, I mention this because I am unsure if converted brass makes a difference. The sweet spot for me was 2.15 with the 11gr. I ended up sticking with 11gr I can’t remember exactly why but this was the one with no failures whatsoever with and without a suppressor. I used CFE BLK and used 10gr, 10.5gr, 11gr, 11.2gr, and 11.5gr to all test it out. I am very pleased with this projectile and will be placing another order for sure as I figured out what to do. I would like to note that I have reloaded plated and FMJ of the same weight projectile and have never had any problems until this projectile. That said it eventually worked after multiple different loads. I am unsure if it is my load data, my rifle, or the projectile however I had problems initially. I would give it 5 starts however I had a problem with loading. Loaded 11.2 grains A1680 seated to 2.20" OAL. I'm already planning on purchasing a couple thousand more soon! And best of all, they are a company in my home state! They all fed great and locked the bolt back, and they were all subsonic. Still just fine for plinking, especially at this price.Īs usual, I started low and built up in powder charge. The only thing is, most were 217.2-217.4, but I did have a few that were 218+. I was surprised, because usually cast bullets have a huge variation in weights, at least from my experience. I started with weighing 20 out to see how close they were. These will be my go to for subsonic plinking loads from here on out. My preferred velocity for this bullet is 1050 fps they work great. What I recover from subsonic loads in the bullet trap are still coated where not totally smashed to bare lead. The coating doesn't rub off, chip or smoke. They are good quality and sized perfectly at. A couple minor deficiencies, but overall great product for the money. I will definitely be buying more when I run low. These are great plinking rounds and make the 300Blk much more affordable to shoot. They worked great in my BCA 300Blk 10.5" upper. I'm sure one of the whisper owners will be along shortly to correct me if/where I am wrong.Took a lil work to get the load right but once I got it they worked great. Some want it for hunting critters in the yard, others for hearing safe practice or youthful shooters. The whole Idea of a SS.30 caliber round is a healthy mix of power and stealth. The one advantage I see with the whisper is the ability to run in an AR platform.Īs mentioned already above, the benefits of SS ammo of any kind is the quiet fashion in which the bullet makes its way to the target. 308 however will shoot subsonic just as good as a whisper IMO, AND when you want to shoot regular supersonic ammo, you have the good old trusty. Even if you load a whisper at supersonic speeds, it will never compare to a. because once you got it, you've got just that. I've argued the same point with the 330 whisper/blackout/221/ect. and I just cant understand why you would want a subsonic. Originally Posted By: ApophasI have beeen reading this thread.
